Christ the King Communtiy Church Snapshot
CKCC will be a place where individuals can investigate Christianity is a safe, unhurried atmosphere. Safe and unhurried are words that describe an openness to meet and accept an individual at their level. Folks will have the opportunity to investigate the claims of Christ in an environment that is friendly, non-judgmental and uncritical.
CKCC will strive to resource people by offering love, acceptance, and encouragement through enduring friendship and the life changing truths of the Bible. Life today is filled with many diverse challenges. In the places that they work, they strive to equip us in such a way so that we are able to effective and productive. Our desire is to resource people in the vital areas of their lives (i.e. family, relationships, finances, emotional strength) by synthesizing practical tools with Biblical solutions.
The felt-needs of families will be a priority to CKCC. We are going to be about equipping families, training them to deal constructively with the challenges they encounter as we face a new century. We will strive to outfit the family to face the unique and difficult challenges that today, tomorrow and beyond will bring.
CKCC will seek to be involved in people’s lives in a personal and authentic way. Relationships are very important to us and will distinctively mark who Christ the King is. In a day where so many “friends” are in it for only what they can receive from us, we will befriend you for who you are, not for what we can get from you. We will care for individuals and extend friendships that are enduring and genuine.
CKCC will be a place where people can heal, mend and face life unafraid. So many people walk through life wounded and afraid. Someone along the way has told them to “suck it up” and move past it. They’ve done that. However, the calm, cool, got-it-together outside is a mere façade to the shell of a person that lives beneath the surface. Tragically, many live their whole lives this way, never feeling a sense of wholeness, never attaining a real sense of, “It’s a great day to be alive!” At Christ the King, we desire to come along side those that have been wounded by life. There will be small groups of people that will be a platform for intimacy, where people can share their hurts and receive the nurture that is necessary for healing. In some cases, we will strive to provide quality, counseling that endeavors to heal, not only the emotional, but also spiritual needs that individuals have.
CKCC will celebrate the greatness and love of God through worship. The more we understand about God, His love and greatness, the more we will be compelled to celebrate Him. It seems that many established churches attempt to harness their congregations expression’s of worship into a little box. Freedom will mark our celebrations and worship. Chaos, no; openness to the Spirit’s leading, yes.
CKCC will be a giving organization. We understand that we are a “not-for-profit” corporation. Though we are committed to fiscal responsibility, we will not hoard our resources. We will intentionally look for opportunities to financially support individuals and organizations, both within and without our church family, that are in keeping with CKCC’s mission, vision, values and beliefs. It is our goal to give 10% of our income in this way.
CKCC will be a sending agency. We will be characterized as a church that has a world-view. This world-view will compel us to send individuals and groups around our area, region and even world. These groups will perform a variety of tasks and ministries, all of which will meet the specific needs of the area in which they are ministering and bring honor to the name of Christ.
Multiplication is a key component of Christ the King. As the church matures, multiplication will mark all that we are about. Individuals will multiply themselves in others, by sharing the life-changing message of Christ. Others will act as mentors; reproducing the Godly qualities of parenting, of living as a godly woman or as the husband that God intended them to be. Others will spearhead ministry that multiplies the church and ultimately the Kingdom of God. We will also strive be a multiplying church, in that we will explore opportunities to “parent” new churches in and around our region.
